Insert the Office: Mac 2001 upgrade CD.Scroll down to the Free Downloads folder.Open the Remove Office Tools folder.Use the Remove Office 98 file to take Office 98 off your hard drive.Follow the directions given.
Next, install MS Office 2001 by copying the folder (by pulling it) to the Applications folder on your hard drive. When the install is complete, you will be asked to restart your computer.
The Value Pack (for additional clip art, movies & sounds, fonts, assistants, proofing tools, and text encoding converting) is installed from the CD.Open the Value Pack folder.Double click on the installer.Select all, and then deselect the items you do not want installed.We suggest you deselect Genigraphics, Handheld Synchronization, Microsoft Query, MSWorks 4.0 converter, and Programmability and Unbinder files.Run the installer.
Next, find the MOM Installer in the Free Downloads folder found on the installation CD and install the Microsoft Office Manager.This will put the puzzle piece on your menu bar, which provides a shortcut to all MS Office applications.
Finally, install Word Speak 2001.It is also found in the Free Downloads folder on the Office Installation CD.This will enable selected text to be read aloud.When installed, this feature is found under the Tools drop-down menu when you are using MS Word.

Microsoft Office 2001 MAC is being provided all TLCG MAC schools as an upgrade from the Office 98 that was originally provided.This upgrade may be installed on all 16 desktop and 5 laptop computers that were provided by TLCG (the computers bearing our TLCG sticker).Each school site will receive one installer disk.You may make one back-up copy for your files.The registration number is on the back of the plastic sleeve that the CD comes in.For Software licensing verification, you may refer to LAUSD PO #PC D2-00262222.
